Day 1

ARRIVE DELHI, INDIA

Arrive in DELHI, where a Melissa Tours representative meets and transfers you to your iconic hotel

Day 2

EXPLORE DELHI

THE OLD & THE NEW

Visit the great Jama Masjid, the most important mosque in India. Completed in 1656, its two minarets each stand 131 feet tall. Then, Ride Like a Local by rickshaw through the narrow alleys and stalls of Chandni Chowk bazaar, one of the oldest and busiest markets in Old Delhi. Like Jama Masjid, it dates to the era of Shah Jahan and today is a vital part of everyday life here — frequented by locals and a must-see destination for visitors. After lunch, tour New Delhi, including Humayun’s Tomb, the last resting place of an esteemed 16th-century Mughal emperor and an architectural precursor of the Taj Mahal

Day 3

AGRA

TAJ MAHAL

Embark on a day trip to Agra. Visit the 16th-century fort, fascinating monuments, and vibrant chowks on your way to the Taj Mahal. Perhaps the most perfectly proportioned monument in the world, it still has lively parts of town that you can see on your way there like chowks.

Day 4

KANHA NATIONAL PARK

JOURNEY INTO THE JUNGLE

After breakfast, fly to Jabalpur. After lunch, continue overland for several hours into the jungles of Kanha National Park. Your hotel overlooks the lush trees and grassy meadows.

Day 5

KANHA NATIONAL PARK

JUNGLE SAFARI

Each day, take in the early morning and afternoon of game viewing in Kanha, one of India’s most famous national parks. Among the sal and bamboo forests, search for elusive Bengal tigers. There are also chital, blackbucks, gaurs, leopards, hyenas, sloth bears, barasingha and other exotic birds.

Day 7

BANDHAVGARH NATIONAL PARK

SEEKING THE TIGER

Take a two-hour drive to Bandhavgarh National Park. One of the most beautiful parks in India, Bandhavgarh is found in between tropical forests, woodlands, and flat grasslands. It also contains dense populations of gaurs, leopards, wild boars, Indian gazelles, common langurs, rhesus monkeys, and sloth bears.

Day 8

BANDHAVGARH NATIONAL PARK

VAST BIODIVERSITY

Take early morning game drives in search of Bengal tigers and leopards. Keep an eye on the forest canopy, as it is populated by a diversity of birds. On Day 9, share farewell cocktails with fellow guests before eating at the lodge.

Day 10

DELHI

RETURN TO CAPITAL CITY

After breakfast, travel several hours to Jabalpur airport for a flight to Delhi. On arrival, transfer to your hotel for an evening at leisure.

Day 11

DEPATURE

Early this morning, transfer to the airport and depart.
