Impact Covid 19

The Covid-19 pandemic has led to a dramatic loss of human life worldwide and presents an unprecedented challenge to health, food systems, and work.

That being said, the COVID-19 lockdown in India has adversely affected many families who live below the poverty line. These people are day-to-day laborers and cannot afford to buy essential items for their families to endure the heat of lockdown. On the other hand, migrant workers from other villages and states cannot return to their homes as transportation is also stopped. They are stuck in the city with no income, savings, and work.

In the midst of the Covid-19 lockdown in India, Melissa Tours and Travels has grown difficult like many other businesses around the world. Despite these challenges, history has shown us that travel is one of the world’s most resilient industries — and while we don’t know exactly when travelers will be back in full force, we can be certain that they will be back.

Melissa Tours and Travels cares about the people and communities. Therefore, we are not just here to make money, but our goal is to support locals and communities in any form of help—specifically, families who cannot afford essential items during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

Since 2013, we have distributed packaged meals to about 200 people comprising Bangalore and Hyderabad as initial locations. With the help of a few friends, we began to expand our reach and think of how we could touch more lives.

Then speaking with our local authorities, we were informed of the situation of our surroundings where we needed to shift our focus. We would not have learned this on our own as the country is under a strict lockdown. With the help of The Health Department of Noida Authority, Uttar Pradesh, INDIA., we initiated and distributed 200 grocery kits of essential items that may run through for a week. Combining our efforts has been a blessing to those who needed our help during such times, as we cannot serve our community by ourselves. In our efforts to provide food and basic sanitation, we need help.

Our goal is to reach out to 100,000 homes and create an impact in their lives. We believe that with the help of your contribution, we can achieve this worthy goal during these challenging times. For us, every single home count has brought us joy and those we touched.

Please DONATE what you can and share with those who can help.
